Our Team

Rod R. Spencer, DDS

Our goal is to provide each and every guest with a dental experience that exceeds his or her highest expectations. We achieve this by staying on the leading edge of dental technology, while maintaining an atmosphere that is warm, friendly and relaxed. And we listen! My team and I have a passion - to build relationships. We inspire confidence and spirit by helping people enjoy their smiles and dental office visits.

I love helping people relax by listening and relating to all the dental phobias most of us have from the old days.  Of course the options of sedation can always help as well.  I was the kid growing up that had all the cavities in the family.  SO many dental appointments.  I can relate and understand most of you well. My ultimate goal is to help you also reduce the amount of time spent in the dental chair.  I was able to learn how to treat not only the problems but more importantly how to treat the cause of dental problems.  By addressing both is the key to staying out of the chair and having predictable end results that last. Something everyone benefits from.....less appointments=more time to enjoy the better things in life!

We maintain our high standards by attending continuing education courses consistently . Yes it's time away from my practice, but I love it! The many hours of continuing education energizes my quest for excellence in dentistry. I am one of the most highly trained cosmetic dentists in the area.. I have also personally received the benefits of cosmetic dentistry and advanced preventive dentistry.  The rewards are so incredible I wish I could have done it years ago.

I recently sold my 20 year practice in Kalispell MT to relocate to my beloved Bozeman area.  The spot I fell in love with back in 1984 when I came to MSU.  Not only am I a dental junkie, seeking all I can to improve myself but I am also an outdoor junkie as well.  I love everything our gorgeous state has to offer and I am blessed to be able to live here and enjoy it all with my awesome family and friends.  I was born and raised in Great Falls and I am a 4th generation native of the state.  Not that there is any real bragging rights to toss around but I am proud to be a deep part of this wonderful state we all choose to live in.  I am a person that loves people, community, helping neighbors and enjoying the moments.

I guarantee you will notice a warm difference with my office and my team from the moment you set foot into our doors.  Please come by to check us out any time, you are a neighbor so you are welcome.  I look forward to showing you our new facility and helping you experience that 'Warm Montana Welcome'.

Sarah Neslund, Treatment Coordinator

In 2007, my two young daughters and I left our home in Southern California to relocate in Townsend, Montana in order to live near my dad who I have remained very close to throughout my life.  Also, it was important to me that my children had the opportunity to develop a similar relationship with their “Papa”. I inherited my dad’s sense of adventure, humor, and zest for life which explains why, after being raised in a small Midwest farm town, I have traveled throughout the world and have lived in several different places before settling down in Montana—a familiar place throughout my life and has always felt naturally like home to me.

My favorite activities include just about anything that can be done under the sun or stars. My idea of a perfect dreamy adventure is hiking with my German Sheppard all day, for days through wild flowers, ascending a high peak or ridge line somewhere up in the Rocky Mountains destined for pristine and serene high mountain lakes loaded with hungry trout. I am always pulling my daughters away from their electronics to experience the great outdoors and demonstrate through experience, it's magic and beauty. I credit my dad for my endless appreciation for the "wild side" of life. I hope my daughters will one day do the same.

Upon moving to Montana, I began working at a local dentist and had the awesome opportunity of learning hands-on dental assisting and what it is I love most about my profession. I love to be real, connect with, and interact with people.  I realize that a trip to the dentist is pretty low on most people’s to-do lists, since it is rarely considered a pleasurable experience. However, from my own experience, to be in the moment with someone and demonstrate natural compassion and understanding for one another makes a world of a difference. It means so much to me to create a positive experience and turn a frown upside down. If not a smile, just knowing someone feels relieved and reassured from a positive dental experience.

When I first met Rod Spencer and had the pleasure of working with him, what I was most impressed with, aside from his professional skills,  was his heartfelt, genuine and empathetic approach when interacting and communicating with his patients and people in general.  I believe a doctor-patient relationship is central to the practice of healthcare and is essential for the delivery of high quality heath care.   Rod is an accomplished dentist who is humane, compassionate, and supportive. From my experience these bedside skills are disappearing in a technology focused practice of health care. I believe one of the biggest elements in having a good bed side manner is empathy. When a patient comes into a healthcare office, they need to be shown that you truly understand. This natural ability of Rods is not really something that can be learned or taught but rather an innate gift he was born with. For this reason I feel truly blessed for my opportunity to work for such a unique and successful individual.

Jessica Spencer, Licensed Esthetician/Office Manager

Jessica Spencer began her career as a dental assistant in 1997 after she attended Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount Minnesota.  She has spent the past 15 years learning all aspects of running a dental office.  In 2013 she decided to take the opportunity to further her career by attending The Healthworks Institute where she received her license to become an Esthetician.  It has long been her desire to change people’s perception of the dental office to make it a more enjoyable experience.  No more “I hate the dentist.”  Her goal is to provide a warm, comfortable, relaxing spa like environment with esthetic services on the menu.

When not running a small business Jessica is with her 4 boys -5 if you include her husband Rod!  They love to do all the outdoor activities that Montana provides.

“I look forward to changing your perception of the dental experience!”
